Welcome to the class! I am originally from Inverness and attended Citrus High School. My father, mother-in-law, and three of my aunts are also teachers/administrators. We're a family of educators! I developed a passion for English and literature while in high school, and my passion for this subject can be credited back to my English teacher, Mr. Harper.
This is my third year at Citrus and I am incredibly thankful to be given the opportunity to return to my alma mater. I spent my first four years at East Ridge HS in Clermont, FL. I was a part of the AVID team, I was able to co-coach the robotics team (Knight and Nerdy) for two years, and I was the girls lacrosse team's head coach for the past two years. Although we don't currently have a lacrosse team at Citrus, we are in the midst of starting a club!
I enjoy reading (what English teacher doesn't like to read?) and watching films outside of school. My dream is to become a MPAA rater once I retire from teaching. I also enjoy playing basketball, running, racquetball, attending local theatre performances, and taking care of my two pups.
Philosophy of teaching: “Everybody is a genius. But, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it’ll spend its whole life believing that it is stupid.” – Albert Einstein
